Naples, 1607. Minichiello works as an apprentice in the workshop of the famous Caravaggio, busy painting the Seven Works of Mercy. The boy is enthralled by watching the master, like a magician, prepare paints with the strangest materials, and dreams of soon stealing his trade. But among those canvases, a tragedy also unfolds.
