Mariafrancesca "Checca" Villani was born in Naples in 1961. After studying as an interpreter, she lived in Antigua for ten years managing a nautical business. Back in Italy, she worked in TV and film production (Rai, Film Commission). As an author, she wrote social impact works such as La camorra si studia in terza. Her latest work is Avanzi di giustizia, the memoirs of a court interpreter.
