Dumas Alexandre

Son of a Napoleonic general, Alexandre Dumas left his classical studies early for Paris, starting his career as a copyist for the Duke of Orléans thanks to his calligraphy. Later a successful playwright and tireless novelist, he redefined the historical genre. His work explores themes of justice, revenge, and heroic redemption, weaving major History with pure adventure. A pioneer of the serial novel (feuilleton), he excelled at turning political conflict into popular epic narratives.
