(Naples 1933) is a writer, musician, composer, and theatre director. He was the artistic director of the Teatro San Carlo in Naples and the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory of Music. His works, almost all published by Einaudi, include classics such as La gatta Cenerentola (1977), Il presepe popolare napoletano (1998), and La Cantata dei pastori (2000), and the short story collections Novelle K 666. Fra Mozart e Napoli (2006) and Satyricon a Napoli ’44 (2014). He also edited the volumes La canzone napolitana (2017), Fiabe campane (1994), and Il Cunto de li Cunti di Giambattista Basile (2002).
